ABOUT PMI EXPO
Across the vast project landscape in all industry sectors in Nigeria, the prevailing high level of project failures has become a critical nagging menace which must be aggressively and decisively tackled.
According to The Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS), there exist a large quantum of uncompleted projects in Nigeria, estimated to cost about N12 trillion as of August 2021 across about 56,000 abandoned projects in all sectors in Nigeria.
In addition to this, project management experts of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) found out that over 60% of projects fail in Nigeria within the framework of governmental systems
In the oil and gas sector, about $163billion has been estimated to be the cost of abandoned projects.
This can be said to be the case in other sectors in our country.
These are worrisome data and the need for government and management within organizations to focus on choosing the right projects that will add business value, deliver benefits and realize high rate of return on investment is more important now than ever before.
This expo is with an aim of proffering or providing sustainable solutions to resolving this nagging problem and change the narratives.
